Motivational Monday: Progress Happens One Walk at a Time

It’s Monday—a fresh week and another chance to build the dog you’ve always dreamed of.

Here’s something every dog owner needs to remember…

Training isn’t about having a perfect dog. It’s about creating better habits together.

Some weeks you’ll celebrate huge breakthroughs.
Your dog finally comes back when called the first time.
They walk past another dog calmly.
They settle quietly while you drink your coffee.

Other weeks?
It might feel like you’ve gone backwards.

That’s normal.

Dogs aren’t robots. They’re living, learning individuals, and progress is not linear.

Every successful recall started with one repetition.

Every calm dog once struggled with excitement.

Every confident owner once wondered if they were doing it right.

Instead of asking yourself…

“Why isn’t my dog getting it?”

Try asking…

“What can we improve by just 1% today?”

Maybe that’s:

  • One extra recall practice.
  • Five minutes of loose lead walking.
  • Rewarding calm behaviour around the house.
  • Playing an enriching scent game instead of another endless ball throw.

Let me know what your goals are for this week over on our Facebook page…..
