So, as I write this, I am sat on the sofa, in my pjs, with my dogs surrounding me, with butterflies in my stomach!
I have some serious imposter syndrome from time to time when it comes to the job I do!
Regularly I think… ‘who do I think I am?’ ‘can I really do this?’ ‘am I good enough?’ but the answer to all of these questions is YES! Yes I bloody am and yes I can!
On Wednesday 19th June 2024 I will attempt to overcome a few of my fears, of speaking on camera, to a wider audience than I can possibly comprehend right now!
The Woofi show is based in Calgary Canada! They have 1.45K subscribers on Youtube, 4.5k followers on Instagram and run a Facebook group with 218K members! That is a serious amount of potential listeners to listen to me ramble on about scent detection and dogs in general.
Scent detection is a pastime I started with Harry quite a few years back now. He has a bowed leg so couldn’t do agility, so we thought we would give it a whirl. 7 years on and he is great at it, although we have had quite a few prolonged breaks in that time.
Dog pick up things they enjoy really quickly and scent detection is something that will strengthen your bond with your dog, so overall your general training should also improve. I am a big believer in having fun with your dog no matter their age.
