As so many people are aware, we acquired a new ‘puppy’ a few weeks ago now. It has definitely been a big change in our house as the dynamics definitely altered after our last old girl left us for rainbow bridge (she was definitely the boss of the house). Maisie is slowly learning her place in the pack but she seems to be lacking in doggy etiquette. She’s had a few ups and downs with most of our other dogs but she is now learning slowly with this. On the plus side she walks nicely on the lead 80% of the time and her recall is pretty good too.
We now need to start putting her under a little bit more pressure to test her more soon. I would like to teach her scent detection and work on a decent stop whistle with her. Once the kids go back to school I can dedicate specific time for her 5 days a week.
The school holidays are definitely a challenge in terms of trying to juggle training with my own dogs and spending time with the kids. I naturally let my client sessions die of coming up to all school holidays so that it takes the pressure off a little. Both children have mentioned wanting to get into training a little bit more so i think Maisie will be the prefect opportunity for them both.
As soon as we have a weekly routine for training I am going to start videoing and posting more. If there is anything specific anyone would like to see from us, please do let me know.
For now, I am writing this as my daughter is doing her Gymnastics practice so ciao for now!

If you would like to follow Maisie’s progress or anything else from wags n woofs then feel free to pop over to our Facebook page give us a like and maybe show us some love on a post or two 🙂
